Manampalli Forest Guest House - A Serene Getaway in the Heart of Nature

Manampalli, a secluded shola forest located in the Anamalai Tiger Reserve, is situated 25km from Valparai Bus Station. Nestled between Sholayar Dam and Valparai, it provides an excellent opportunity for trekking enthusiasts. It offers picturesque views of thickly forested areas, fast-flowing rivers, and majestic peaks. Unlike other areas in Valparai, Manampalli has no tea plantations, and visitors will not come across any human activity. To reach it, visitors must take an 8km journey via the jungle from the main road.

Manampalli is home to 15-20 households who work for Sholayar Power House, providing electrical power to Valparai. Elephants, Bison, deer, and other endangered species are found in abundance in this region as it is geographically bordered by Topslip and Parambikulam. The Manampalli River adds to the charm of this place, making it an ideal spot for trekkers. There is a rest house located at the foothills of Manampalli, which serves as a base camp for trekkers. This spot is solar-powered and does not have access to electricity. Guests must bring everything they need for cooking.

Transportation to Manampalli is limited to a bus that leaves Valparai in the morning and returns by evening. Visitors must obtain prior permission from the main office in Pollachi or contact the DFO to stay at the guest house.

The guest house charges extra for any additional guests. Visitors can choose from three plans -CP, MAP, and EP, which include room and complimentary breakfast and dinner. Rates are subject to change without notice. Visitors can check-in and check-out at 12 Noon. Children above the age of 5 will be charged. Entry to the forest is free, while the guest house charges Rs. 3000 per night.
